Jonathan had an unrestorable tooth extracted leaving an unsightly gap. This tooth helped to support a bridge and once it was removed it left the false bridge tooth only supported by his eye tooth. The false tooth began to chip and break shortly afterwards so a decision as remade to remove it, leaving the eye tooth covered by the remaining bridge section.
We placed two Straumann premium Swiss dental implants into the space, supplemented with a bone graft and after a healing period of two months, two new crowns were attached to the implants. The crowns have successfully restored Jonathan's dental appearance and ability to chew. Having fixed implant teeth means that Jonathan has avoided having an uncomfortable denture and he can now smile with confidence.
Toby is a 52 year old builder who was becoming concerned about the appearance of his teeth. He felt that they were becoming yellower and that the crowns he had fitted 20 years ago were getting darker near the gumline.
Toby was provided with a custom made 'at home whitening kit' to lighten the colour of his teeth. His two old metal framed crowns were replaced with two high quality ceramic crowns and his stained composite filling was also replaced.
'Cheers mate, my teeth look brilliant!' TobyThe investment for a similar course of treatment would be £1300.
Ann had a fractured front tooth that was unrestorable and had to be extracted. After wearing a denture to replace the fractured tooth she decided that she wanted to have a more permanent, comfortable and cosmetic alternative.
We placed a Straumann implant that would form the foundation for a new permanent crown. We also placed a bone graft around the implant to replace the bone that had shrunk away following the extraction.
After a few months a temporary crown was attached to the implant. This enabled the gum around the implant to adjust to the new implant. When we were happy that adequate healing had taken place, we fitted the final crown.
Ann is delighted to not have to wear a denture anymore and can once again smile with confidence.
The investment for a cosmetic crown, temporary crown, implant and bone graft to replace a missing front tooth would be between £2500 and £2995.
Ron came to see us to explore the possibility of having a dental implant to replace his missing front tooth. The tooth was recently extracted and his dentist had given him a removable denture. He found the denture loose and uncomfortable when eating and was worried about it dropping when talking to people.
We were able to successfully replace the denture with a dental implant. Ron was very pleased with the feel and appearance of the new tooth and was delighted to discard his uncomfortable denture.
